It’s okay if you can’t pronounce local places in Sweden.

The Swedish language is undeniably very hard to pronounce. Everytime you think you’ve found the right way to say the word the locals will still have their browse curled before you.

The good news is that the majority of the people in Sweden are fluent in the English language. This means you can talk with them a lot easier than you’ve imagined.

You must go island-hopping.

Most of the beautiful islands in Sweden are at close proximity. Make sure you visit a few of these islands so you can enjoy the magical scenery which can only be seen when you ride the car or ferry.

Bring your own alcohol.

Unfortunately, Sweden is not so friendly when it comes to alcohol and you cannot find a lot of convenience stores selling alcohol. If you want to buy alcohol above 3%, you need to find the nearest Systembolaget, a government-run retail chain which is the only legal option to get hold of alcoholic drinks.

Try the floating sauna.

Yes there are floating saunas in Sweden. These are steam rooms built on pontoon-like barges allowing you to enjoy a view of the lake, ocean or river. This style of spa has become very popular in Sweden and will totally bring your Sweden vacation to a whole new level.

You can drink the tap water.

Fortunately, you don’t have to keep spending on bottled water when you go to Sweden. Their tap water is filtered so you can drink it directly. It is a financial and ecological norm in Sweden wherein you can bring your own bottle to fetch drinking water, save money and mother earth as well.

Sweden is the best place to try a lot of seafood.

There is no shortage of seafood in Sweden. If you are more adventurous when it comes to food, Sweden will take your food journey to a whole new level. You can try a variety of seafood in this country.

Sweden is truly a great country. Of course, when you get here, you should not forget to witness the Northern Lights. If you are aiming for this lovely view, you can come to Swedish Lapland between September and March when the Northern Lights are at its finest.
